My cats often kill snakes and bring them to my porch as presents, I guess.
How long would I have to freeze the dead snake until it was free of parasites, and be safe to feed to my Cali king. It wouldn’t be a regular thing, just a break from the weekly rat every once in a while.
I only feed her frozen thawed rats. The last time she had live prey was 2015 when I got her and asked for a feeding demonstration

Just shootin from the hip here, I’d venture somethin like 2 weeks. I’ve got nothin to base this on, more just a gut feeling. [emoji205] [emoji216]
After doing some reading online, I think it might just be a bad idea. I would hate to get my snake sick trying to spice up its diet.
Lol I’m very concerned with all my animals diets, then I go get some pizza and beer and call it a night

I saw somebody on YouTube who is feeding his very large snakes some of the python’s that are invasive in Florida. He freezes them for a while, but I don’t know how long. I think a couple weeks would do it, but put it in a deep freeze and make sure the entire thing gets frozen solid.
