Well that explains it... I guess I'm going to have to buy more bc I adore my (I mean my sons... ) turtles. I can't get rid of them, Yertle and Myrtle are freaking awesome! Best pets ever. BUT, They are only a year or so old (or that's how long we've had them, Petco didn't give me their age) and I'm definitely seeing bossy behavior when it's feeding time. I can't tell if they are boys or girls. :/

Definitely older than one year old. More like 8-10 years. If they are showing signs of aggression, it really is important to separate them before one gets seriously hurt. Look over our amazing care sheet to help improve your enclosure and diet :)

You can post a new thread in the general forum with pictures of your tortoises plastron and Tails and we may be able to tell you if they're male or female. Also add their overall straight line length so we get an idea of how old they are.

Wonderfully written article. I too wanted to give my tortoise a "Buddy" but now I will focus on spoiling just her.:tort::)
(Not my tortoise in pic. I was just showing that I want to spoil her by taking her for more walks.)
