Beautiful!

Do you find your enclosure easy to maintain?

I am getting ready for our outdoor build...and putting together ideas. (Not for box turtles...just general enclosure designs).

Great pics!!

Thank you sir.

Thanks Rue.
I've done basically nothing to maintain it. Have not trimmed anything. I will run the sprinkler for about 30 minutes during times of intense heat or when it has not rained for awhile, which also fills the small pond. I see feces occasionally but do not remove it. I provide fruits and some veggies about 5 times a week. Just stack it up in a pile on a piece of plastic. Usually there is next to nothing left to clean up; just some fruit skins or apple cores. Unless they don't accept some foods. Still experimenting. I'll be trying some meats this week.

So I finally got around to adding some suitable nesting areas to the enclosure. As I was removing some earth, I found quite a few worms. Before I knew it, a few turtles moved in for some food and made the project take twice as long. One of the females that was enjoying some of the worms began digging a nest while I was working. Pretty cool and I was kind of shocked that she was doing this with me no more than 2' away mixing sand, peat Moss and soil.

I finished up as quick as I could and let her be. I planned on making another nesting area but didn't want to disturb her. I just checked and she's still at it.

And my favorite girl was out and about today as well so I snapped some pics-

So I have not loaded up any pictures in a bit. Hopefully not bugging anyone with photo overload.

The nesting female, Providence, laid 3 eggs. I unearthed them and put them back into place, being sure to not overturn. I do not have an incubator. May order one from CSerpents and pick up at the next NARBC in Tinley Park.

Resident Green Frog. Also known as a Bronze frog. May or may not be a subspecies with recognized status. May or may not end up on the menu...
