Is this basking/uv light suitable?

Yes, it says "D3" and "UVB" and that's what you're looking for. I'm not sure if 80watts will be hot enough, but only your thermometer will let you know about that. It would be a standard mount, so should fit your lamp holder, but you holder needs to have a ceramic base because the light gets pretty hot.

Thank you :) it is necessary to have a light that provides UVB? I live in the UK and have an outdoor enclosure for my tortoise which at the moment it goes in 3 to 4 days a week for 5-6 hours each time because the weathers not great so I only put the tortoise out on the sunny warm days

If the tortoise gets several hours of good sunshine a week, then it's not that necessary to provide a UVB light in the house.

I'm in in the UK - Kent

You won't be able to get your tort out year round; there will be at least 4 months when you will need UVB.

So would you recommend buying one now and having it as an extra to the natural sunlight or wait until later on in the year when it gets too cold to put the tortoise outside and buy one then?
