Does anyone know if this would be a safe product to use to waterproof my wooden enclosure so that I can put coco coir and top soil in it, while keeping it humid without it rotting the wood?

Can't answer if this is safe or not, but I use a cheap shower curtain in my wooden tortoise table. It keeps them moisture off the wood and when it gets beat up (the sides get scratched up) I just replace it with another cheap one. Hope that was helpful!

Mineral oil is a natural way to prevent mold, I used it on my balcony a while back and sprayed it heavely for weeks before I saw signs of mold.

It might work. One question, besides outgassing, is if it can be peeled off or slashed by torti claws.
