palm-seeds.jpg Hello Forum. I'm adopting a DT soon and while "arranging" my backyard for its arrival I looked up at my 4 huge California Palms and noticed these "seed" bundles ready to drop. I am worried that the tortoise may try to swallow these as they look a lot like grapes. The seeds are green at the moment and very hard. As they mature they look like mini coconut clusters and fall to the ground. Some green ones have already fallen due to some windy days.
Question: Has anyone run into this dilemma? Any feedback/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
BTW, I am gaining to saw-off the pods I see but I know I won't be able to get them all.
Pic attached. Apprx. size of a large car tire.
Thanks.

Those seed pods are valuable.
I had some guys in a truck that came and purchased them back when I had several different palm trees.
Hurricanes and a PowerLine fire took care of them.
Ask any landscape company you see driving around. They'll cut them down as quickly as they grow.
Just a thought.
