What to feed...

Hey all! I am new to owning a tortoise... And I was wondering what their diet should look like. My moms boyfriend has 2 box turtles and I just wanted to make sure that they are taken good care of... So what kind of food is the best and what kinds of veggies should they eat everyday. What treats should they be given?

How good of you to help take care of them! I was told 50% protein- hard boiled egg, cooked chicken breast, worms, meal worms, pill bugs, slugs......and the rest in fruits, veggies ( squash, bell peppers, pumpkin, berries, melons, grapes apples) and leaves- dandelions, plantain, romaine, endive, escrole, mullberry leaves. Mushrooms sold for humans are good in small amounts. There's tons more in the box turtle section mentioned. Good luck!
