As I'm only into Redfoots, I am by no means an expert in European and other tortoises. My friend sent me these two pictures of his five tortoises. I know that two of them are "Greek", but can you all helpo me out here, please ?
This is a GUESS but I think I see two Iberia Greeks, two black Greeks and one Russian ...... I don't keep either species but that is my best guess hopefully someone will correct me if I am wrong!!
I see a russian, and some sort of Greek tort.
They are very beautiful tortoises, your friend must take good care of them... But it is usually not recommended to keep different species together, for a few reasons!
Well, @HermanniChris should know, he's great at id'ing!
Your friend has 2 Eastern Hermann's (T. h. boettgeri) in the back across from each other, then a Russian or Horsefield's tortoise (A. horsfieldii)on the left and 2 Anamurensis Greek (T. g. anamurensis) tortoises on the left and right on the bottom. There are no Marginateds in this group. Hope that helps.
They are absolutely not all Greeks, please see above. Only the 2 in the front of the photo are Greeks. The one on the left in the middle is without a doubt a Russian and the 2 in the background are 100% eastern Hermann's. It's important your friend knows what species he actually has.
They are an absolutely gorgeous group of tortoise, beautiful skin, color, lovely shells as well....I love all of the natural plant growth in the second pic....beautiful.
