I think so. I really don't like the left rear leg condition. This is the leg with no toes, right? The tissue near the end of the leg is darker than further up. I suspect poor circulation and necrosis in this area, maybe this happened in the tail too. You are already giving it UV, give it good foods, @ColleenT linked to some good nutrition. I like to feed fresh North American berries, fruit and earthworms, but also buy frozen butternut squash, berries and mango to feed.
OK I will. It hasn't eat anything today. Yes I have a UVB running and heat but hasn't basked at all today. Yes that is the foot with no toes. I will soak every day for awhile. The lady that had him said when she got him from her niece that he was so dried out that when she soaked him that dead skin was just falling off of him so I would say that is what happened to the toes and tail. Anything else I can do ? I will also give him calcium powder on his food.

Its not unusual for a box turtle to go off feed when there is a change in environment, I would go to baby food soakings until it starts eating on its own. Mix carrot and/or butternut squash baby food, 50/50 with 85-90F water and soak him for 30 minutes. If you can, leave the soaking container near the turtles heat source so it stays warm.

OK PJay I have another question. He never comes out of his hide so should I take it and the greenery out some through the day so he will bask and get some UVB?

Also I have read about getting T-Rex box turtle dust. Good or bad idea? Sorry for all the question but I just want to get the best help on getting this little guy better.

From what I have read here on old threads in the forum, a turtle with MBD needs calcium and UVB. I wouldn't remove anything, but you could place the turtle under the UV light once a day. If it goes back to the hide, that's OK. It doesn't take huge exposure to good UV, a little goes a long way. I've never used or researched the T-Rex product, I use Zoo Med Repti Calcium with D3.

Yes I use that Calcium also but he hasn't had nothing but pellets so I know it is going to take time to get it to eat anything else. I did a soak in the 50/50 carrots and water mix tonight and he did eat some of it. I think what I might do is when I do a soak put the bowl under the UV that way he will be in it some. I have soaked him this morning in water and then tonight in the 50/50 mix. I will take any suggestions that anyone has. Thank you all

Still not eating but I have been soaking him in the carrot/ butternut squash baby food mix and I have seen him eating some of it. I think his feet and legs are looking a little bit better. He did bask in the heat lamp for about 15 min today so that is a improvement and while he was soaking I put it under the UVB bulb.

Well found out that my little guy is around 4 yrs old. Can't believe he is so tiny. Still not eating yet but I have been soaking him every day and bought some pellets and have soaked them so hopefully he will start eating them and will go from there on food. He is looking better as far as his skin color. Hopefully he will start eating on his own before long.

That is all they feed him. I have tried different green and super worms. He don't even act like they are there. I know he is eating the baby food mix because his poop now is orange.

Could it be possible that Herbie could be hibernating since the people that I got him from didn't have any kind of heat for him? He never comes out and still won't eat. Should I leave him alone or what should I do? When I take him outside like I did today all he wants to do is find somewhere to hide.

I wouldn't take him outdoors now. He's new to you. And he's hiding outside because he feels vulnerable out there. Leave him in his indoor enclosure with a good uvb bulb and heat and let him settle in. The less stress the better.

You've had him less than a week, correct? With all the soaking and trips outside he's not being given time to distress, IMO.

Yes I have had him less than a week. I have only took him out twice but will stop. Should I just leave him be and just put new food down daily and just see if he will start eating on his own or should I keep giving him his soaks on baby food and water daily? He stay in his hind all the time. I never see him out. I know he can come out at night but if he does he isn't eating. He is just so so tiny for being around 4 yrs old I am just worried about him.

It's normal for him to be hiding all the time right now. He's in a new environment. To him he's not "home". If it were me I'd leave him be completely for a few days. You can offer food certainly. Not a food source I'd normally use, but maybe after a couple days of not messing with him you could try putting a spoonful of stinky canned cat or dog food in there.
