What type of tortoise do you have?
that is ground ivy. Toxic according to the tortoise table web site. can be very hard to control in a lawn.

There is also a little bit of wild violets in that picture as well. The plant central right in the photo with a pointier leaf. It is ok to feed. both are common in lawns and hard to control.

I would be careful that no harmful herbicides or fertilizers where used in the lawn before feeding anything from it.

No fertilizer is used but it seems about half of what grows here is a no no so I'm happy I'm cultivating my own food.
