I (well my dogs) found this guy in the driveway today. I moved him to the back of my 6 acres to a small stream/pond. I believe he is a eastern river cooter but would like to know for sure. I found one dead in my pasture last year and would like to learn more about them, as it seems I have a few living here on the property.

Note the split scute!

Where I let him go.

Thanks!
Cyndi

@tortadise here is some more of that area. I love to just go sit out there. It's so peaceful and beautiful.

I couldn't tell ya either what it is, sure is a cutie though. Love the little creek. You need to bring up some of that moss and add it to the Boxie enclosures, I love moss. I have some growing in the front of my yard. I moved some to the back, but it didn't take that good. I did try putting it on my drift wood, probably was too dry.
Boxies and turtles, nice.

I just wished I could make an enclosure that looked like that. I just haven't got it done yet. Some day perhaps I will get one close to a natural look. (such are the dreams of an everyday tortoise keeper...)
