I am praying that all the TFO members, friends and their animals made it through the bad storms with minimal damage and stress.

I'm in Texas . Lucky me I didn't get any damages. All my animals are safe and sound . I just had to work my butt off for a few weeks. Would have liked to travel and help more people ,but they revoked my vacation . I was going to take the first week of September off ,but no too much damages. But hey I got people water going to their houses.

There are at less two animal sanctuaries that care for turtles /tortoises that are really damaged and in need of funding. One is Turtle Rescue USA, and the other is Second Changes Wildlife Sanctuary, located in East Orlando. The owners, Amanda Ebenhack, and Jim Bronzo are great animal lovers. They sacrifice their whole lives in caring for hurt, abandoned, abused animals. I hope some here will help by giving from their hearts to help them rebuild their sanctuaries.

Thanks for the well wishes! I had a pretty stressful evacuation - 2 people, 2 dogs (one a German shepard), 2 rats, 2 tortoises, 6 other reptiles, 13 rifles (yes I'm in Texas), and personal items in 1 car. And I'm pregnant. But we evacuated safely, a 10 hour drive.

Luckily we were mostly undamaged - just up the road from us there are areas where the homes are 100% uninhabitable, with many of them scoured down to the foundation. I assess storm damage as part of my job, and I have seen people combing through the remnants of their homes and collecting what little valuables remain. It is heartbreaking. For the people and for the animals in the area. But we will persevere, and good hearted people always shine through to help others - furred, scaled , and bipedal!

The recovery is going to be a long one - thanks y'all for the thoughts, well wishes, and prayers!!!
