Well, we think our Sully looks like a female based on the plastron. Short tail, not very concave and very V shaped.
Do you really care about the sex ? When I picked Walker out of the group he was with back in 96 I was hoping for a male, for no other reason than I knew males got bigger than females.
Status: hot n humid wxr continues. Hot humid hazy August temps continued into September. Daily temperatures continue to remain in 90's. Plenty of fresh hibiscus and rose of sharon from the garden. Sully's weight gain has slowed down, but hes eating a ton. Temperatures finally breaking after a long, hot Summer.

Do you have pictures of his enclosure when you raised him as baby ?
Status: The hot, humid summertime temperatures are gone, as are the long sunny dsys. No more basking in bright sunshine, or out in the garden forwging on grass, weeds and hibiscus.

What's he in for the winter?
Sully is inside our/his sunroom for the winter, surrounded by many of our tender plants. Limes, lemons, cactus, ferns, etc. his outside shed is now inside.
Here he is this morning coming out of his heated house looking for breakfast, which today is pumpkin, dandelions, hay, and plenty of mazuri.

Mazuri, hay, a few bundles of dandelion, three heads of lettuce. A nice long soak in warm water. Some good, long shell rubs n head rubs. Aaagh, a good day for our Sully.

Status: Summer is over and the cooler, cold temps have arrived here in the Mid-Atlantic States. Sully has been inside his sunroom, complete with heated box, along with a nice thick cypress mulch substrate. Sunroom has a roomsize humidifier and a gargen fountain running during the warm, daylight hours. Portable room heater rounds out the daytime temps, increasing the overall ambient room temps to 85-90. Sully and our indoor plants to include lemon and lime trees love the conditions. Sully has gained just about 23 pounds this year.

I'm curious about your citrus trees. We live in a major citrus growing region (California). The air is very dry here. They also grow citrus in Florida where it is humid, so maybe citrus grows equally well no matter the humidity. The fruit becomes ripe and gets picked in December and January, our coldest months. Every year we get a few days that are at freezing temperatures. If it stays below freezing for more than a few hours, it ruins the fruit, but growers say that a little bit of freeze is actually good. I always thought they needed the cold for some reason.
Here's a quick pix of our Sully out from his warm house to enjoy a nice late afternoon snack of a few bundles of fresh dandelion and mazuri. Outsde, it's poring down a hard cold 40f rain. Inside, nice warm area, coupled with good humidity. Top of his shell is reading right around 90-95.
Status: Sully remains indoors now for the Winter inside his sunroom, complete with heated box, along with a nice thick cypress mulch substrate. Sunroom has a roomsize humidifier and a garden fountain running during the warm, daylight hours.
Big change this week was to swap out the CHE that we had inside his heated box with an 80 watt radiant heat panel that just arrived from Bobby at Reptile Basics Inc.

So far, the radiant heat panel seems to be keeping ambient temps very nice during the day and cools down some during colder evenings. We monitor carapace temp a few times per day to ensure all is well during these Winter temps. One last weigh in for 2016!
