Soo it is 48oF outside (9-10C) but under the sun it is warmer, i can sit outside with a low sleeved top on without a shiver..
Is it too cold? Or can they go out, i meen not long just a quick wonder then back home again?
I just want big momma to go and explore for a few mins?
I think it may be to cold but would like your opinions and would you risk it?

Thanks in advance!

I'd think that was a bit too cold for smaller tortoises.

On a beautifully sunny day like today(well it is in Kent) in a sheltered spot with direct sun, they'll be absolutely fine for an hour.

Joe has enjoyed marching round his garden today!

They're like storage heaters and bigger torts like yours will retain enough charge to motor for a while. Keep an eye on them and bring them in if they show signs of digging in.

I don't let mine go out if it's 65 or under. Just me though. Mine are used to 80's in their vivariums and I wouldn't want them to be shocked with such a drop in temp.
