im considering talking my tortoise hatchlings to the park this weekend. i have a portable enclosure for them but im wondering about letting them graze. how common is bermuda grass? can i let hatchlings just roam around in their portable fence without worrying too much about watching them constantly?
of course ill provide a shady corner and a shallow water dish

Only thing I would worry about at the park would be little kids sprinting from nowhere to come see your turtles, because youngsters can be hazardous to animals. I'd keep a wary eye out for the dogs too.

Most parks don't use much fertilizer and rarely use pesticides (almost never on their turfs).
Try not to go to any off-leash parks where there would be a high **** content.
Sounds like a great idea.

I bring my tortoise to the park all the time. This past weekend we brought Mook, he loved it and got tons of exercise. I did keep him far away from the actual playground and in the open field where I could see everyone approaching and see where he was running off to.

That and the maintenece guys don't get the water bill so the lawns get plenty of water.
