Hi there,

I got this tortoise from a friend, and I was wondering if his shell is normal? Or is it starting to pyramid? :( He/She's about 2 years old.

Also, how do I make him/her more tame?

welcome to the forums! the tortoises is already pyramiding, pyramiding is caused by lack of humidity in a tortoises enclosure. change the substate to coco coir, orchard bark or cypress mulch all of these substates work well when moist. soak the tortoise daily in warm water for 20 minutes. constant interaction with the tort will make it more use to you. how large i the enclosure? do you provide the tort with water? read this entire care sheet. http://www.tortoiseforum.org/threads/how-to-raise-a-healthy-sulcata-or-leopard-version-2-0.79895/

That is very mild pyramiding and I would not worry about it. Just make sure all else is good. Hydration, humidity, diet, temperatures, etc.

Here are some threads that should help:

They tame down with time and size. Gentle interaction and hand feeding can speed up the process.
