hello....
My sulcata has been doing a strange sound lately....
She seems really good... its is active, and eating well... eyes look good and normal, no runny nose... and she only does it after soaking...
she looks just like always... (she is 1.6 year old)
Im not really good at english, so I dont know what the sound would be called like...
I would guess it sounds like a squeaking...
anyone knows about this?

Look in the nose see if there is something in it . Like food or dirt.

What type of substrate are you using? Tortoise do make noise from time to time and do so without being ill....:D

Noses seem clean...
I use organic yard soil as substrate...
Like I said before, she doesnt looks sick or ill....
She usually makes those noises after her soakings...
it just makes me really curious...

Hi Arturo, does the sound sounds deep? Does your tortoise makes it when you grab it after soaks?

Mine "hisses" see example:
make a sharp sibilant sound as of the letter s.
"the escaping gas was now hissing"

But I'm not sure of she does it bc she is upset or scare and it's a way to sort of scare other animals in her natural habitat. For me is not dangerous bc they never bite but I usually let her alone for a bit after that because I don't want to stress her.
