We just built our 3 year old sulcata a new enclosure, since she has moved in she is bobbing her head and making a whistling noise when she breathes. We have her hot spot at 110 and her cool spot with her hide at 85, the coldest spot being 75.any thoughts?

It might be a respiratory infection. They sometimes get a bit of a runny nose when something stressful happens in their life (like being plunked down into a new territory). Just keep him warm, don't allow him to get cool, and it should resolve on its own.

75 is too cool and 110 is too hot. Bring that 75 up to 85 and the basking spot down to 100.

Keep the tortoise extra warm, never below 85ish day or night until two weeks after symptoms stop.

Do this tonight. Even one more cold night can make the difference between a full blown infection, and getting over it with warmer temps.

Ok, thanks. I can get the temp up today. I am waiting on a glass place to cut the 3 windows for the enclosure. It has cardboard windows now. If the glass does not fix the cold end I will add a small computer fan to circulate the temp. We have 2 250w spots, one clear and a red for night. The red is temporary till we get a 250che.

Temp update
This is 4'×4'.I bought a temp gun, basking spot coco is 98-100f and the rock under is 100-106f. That's under a 250w heat bulb 12hrs a day in the back left of the enclosure. Center back is a 13w 10.0 uvb twist bulb, that is getting replaced with a 160w mv heat/uvb. Back right is a 250w inferred heat lamp over a 13 gal. Black tote for a hide. Temps of the hide are 135f on the roof that she can't he to, 86f on inside of hide at head level and coco is 81-82f. This red lamp is 24hr on and plans to change it out for a Che 250 soon. The front side is 73-75 from right to left and 12" back.

So as Tom advised, I need to get the front side up 10 deg. What Temps should I go with for the other 2 areas? Thanks
