I got a cuttlebone for Humpfree but I'm not sure if I should remove the hard backing or not.Should I?After reading the thread "what do I feed my tortoise" I wasn't very sure if I should or shouldn't.

Nah dont bother about removing the hard back, i have 2 cuttlebone peices for my pair of THB's, and my yearling barely touches it.
But my 4 year old (5 on 2nd of march) eats it most days, but not too much of it, however she doesnt eat the hard backing, she has eaten about 1 inch into the cuttlebone, and she leaves the hard parts alone.
