Good morning!

I just discovered this forum online and thought I'd give it a try. Recently acquired a beautiful Indian Star Tortoise which I believe to be a female, and would love to find a male buddy for her. She's approximately 4 months old and 67 grams. Thanks all, and Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello and welcome.

I agree with what Yvonne said. Yours is too young to know the sex and they should not be kept in pairs. Tortoises don't see other tortoises as "buddies". They see them as intruders, competitors, something to run from, or something to drive out of their territory.

Also, I have found most of the care info out there for stars to be too cool and too dry. Check these out for a better way to keep them:

These are written with leopard and sulcata in the titles, but I care for my stars identically. I just use less emphasis on grass in the diet for a star.

A very warm welcome to the forum, @Geocheloner .;)

Any pics of your tort and her enclosure? This would enable us to give advise much more easily.

Whereabouts do you live and what's the weather like now?
