My tort's rearend has some of those. Like your pic, they are much darker than the surrounding skin. I just assumed they were normal?

do they grow as the torts get older? i cant see any on mine.
Maybe some don't have any? It might just be a cosmetic thing (NOT necessary!)
Or, your tort is CB, right? It might just be something some WC torts have??

I have two that are juvenile and two a bit older( not sure of exact ages) the two older Russians have the exact bump/wart like things around their backsides. My two "babies" do not. I think it's definitely age and not wether they are captive bred or wild caught

I don't mean to sound terrible, but her rearend is really lumpy!:p Maybe it's an identification thing? Can't imagine why they would need little lumps on their buttocks.

Nank has them, I believe they're a normal Russian feature.
I cant speak for sure why they're there or if they're there for a reason, but when tortoises tuck into their shells wouldn't that part be exposed, since they cant cover everything with their legs/feet. So like their front legs being rough and hard to protect them when they hide, could this not be the same idea? I'm no expert since Nank never completely tucks away, guess i'm good and don't completely terrify him, but is this a good point?
