I wish I could help you . I don't use it for my Sulcata because I was told they may try to eat it. I never saw a need for it in my case , but it may be fine for a Hermann's ! Sorry I cant really help , but now you know your not being ignored ! :D I am sure someone who can help will be along ! ;)

I have a big pile of moist sphagnum moss under the basking light and in the hide for my Russian baby tortoises. They love to lie on top of the moss and bask and then they bury themselves in it. I use the ZooMed brand as it is so soft and fluffy.
