Hi everyone, i would like to ask a question.
I am using coco soil as the substrate, and i also give a water plate for my hustling leopard tortoise. But the problem is the water will be very dirty after my tortoise go to drink or soak, i am worried about my tortoise will drink water along with the coco soil, is it okay with this substrate?

Coconut coir does not harm the tortoise if it is ingested.

I use coco coir and a water saucer, too, some contamination is unavoidable but I don't consider it a problem, just keep changing it over when i can. It won't hurt the tortoise.
Tightly packing down the coir with your hands helps a bit.

Fine grade orchid bark works best for this species. Coco coir is too messy.
