20180716_115804.jpg Is anyone fimilar with soil pep mulch. It is made in Rexburg, Idaho, near where I live. It is a mulch used to help keep plants cool and for use in winter as a mulch to cover rose bushes and other plants. I called the company and it is all natural and made from fir, mostly douglas fir and sometimes a little pine. I use it all the time in my yard. It is light and in very small pieces. I was wandering if it would be okay to use with baby Russian tortoise in habitat. It does not smell like pine, but has an earthy, fresh, clean smell.

I think it would be ok to use. We generally advise to stay away from the aromatic barks such as pine and cedar, but the blend should be ok.
