Evening everyone , I have a shell question , one of our horsfields has a rectangular piece sticking out the front of his shell , I use this to distinguish them lol but is this normal ?
It seems quite long and I'm not sure if he's uncomfortable or going to do some damage to his neck ( when stretching & feeding ext ) might it want clipping/filing or something ?? , cheers

My Russian tortoise has a similar one. It's never seemed to bother her or cause any issues.:)

Hello and a very warm welcome to Tortoise Forum.
I, too, would leave it until the tortoise shows obvious discomfort.
But i guess carefully filing it down little by little wouldn't do any harm.
