Today, I fed my tortoise, Bart, a carnation. I've read that this is okay to feed him in moderation. He ate about one-fourth of the flower. About ten minutes later he started throwing it up. I got him in January and he's my first tort, so I'm kind of a newbie. What should I do?

Well, it does say it can cause gastro-intestinal upsets. The flower could have also been treated with pesticides or sprayed with something.

You don't notice anything else strange about your tortoise, right? He's pooping, eating, sleeping, etc. all normally before this incident?

Everything else has been normal until today. He seems to be doing better now. He was climbing on his log earlier, so I hope thts a good sign.
