So I've had an adult Russian tortoise for just under a year now. Up until now I've been using the fluorescent tube uvb lights with a CHE but I just switched over to a 100w zoomed powersun. My Russian has a large cage about 5x3 feet. The hot spot under the new powersun bulb is reading about 105 degrees. I know this is a little high for a Russian but is it really a problem when he has so many spots to cool down? The cold side is about 75 degrees. Thanks

Should be totally fine.

Go temp the ground in the sun on a 75 degree day. It will be way hotter than 105. With so much space for your tortoise to move away from the basking area, I think it will be fine.

If you can raise the bulb an inch or two, I would, but it should be fine if you can't.
