Russian Tortoise Red mark on Shell?

I've had my russian tort for about 2 years -- He is healthy and never had any problems. I noticed this mark a few days ago and just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas what it is? He seems to be acting normal and eating normal too -- Does anyone have any ideas or is it just a mark that I don't need to worry about?

Hi, and welcome to the forum!

It might just be a bruise. Septicemia shows as red similar to that, however it usually shows up all over in the new growth areas. Just keep your eye on it and if it spreads, it's time for the vet.
