I've never seen a faded Russian tortoise shell, so I don't know what you mean when you ask this question.

Russian tortoises don't pyramid unless you give them extremely bad care, so follow the care sheet and you should be fine.

Sorry, I still don't see it. The Russian tortoise in those pictures looks just like Russian tortoises normally look. They come in different colorations...some are bright yellow, some have more black on them. This is normal and natural.
