Hello, In the past I've used reptibark, and I've had no problems with mites. I recently bought some more, but as I was going through the reviews I saw a couple people who said they had mites. I'm a bit worried to put it in my tortoises enclosure, because I don't want any mites. Is there anyway to make sure there are none in there? Should I put it in the oven, if I do what temperature and how long?

Thanks

Baking it is the fast way but i never know how long or what temp. I think people so 250 degrees for like 3-4 hrs. I'm always afraid to catch it on fire so I freeze it. I toss it in my deep freezer for 24hrs. If you don't have a deep freezer leave it 48hrs

I used reptibark the first time. Had so so soooo many bugs. I had to get rid of the entire setup. It also stained the plastron of my baby because it was always moist.

I use coco coir now. Much easier to use, and no bugs except those that hitchhike from my weeds.
