Hi all! I just want to share findings with the radiateds.

I have an outdoor pen (pic attached) that i use to put my radiateds during sunny days. But then i start to realise that even when they are out in the pen, they dont seem to be active much. And then, i put them outside their pen into the lawn and they start to roam and graze.

It's just a matter of seconds that i put them out of their pen, they become very active. I cant help but wonder of many radiateds being kept in tiny cages without grasses or lawns. I believe that the bigger their enclosure are, the happier they'll be.

The same goes for aldabras, ive seen many people keep them in small spaces. Well they seem to grow just fine but do they really stressless and happy?

PS: This is my personal opinion, i have no intention to offend anyone.

Here are some pictures of my radiateds outdoor

You have a group very beautiful Rads. I think this rule of space are apply to all living thing. No exception for torts.

My radiated also more active in the outdoor enclosure.

Also. From your all experiences, is it true that only male radiated will rise its legs if given a head rub?

Doubt it. Otherwise it would be easier to tell the sexes apart. And that is notoriously difficult with this species.
