I'm sure there are going to be some strong opions in this but thought I'd ask, canned cat food for red foot tortoise protein occasionally, yes or no? I've heard it suggested!

Yes.
But I use soaked dry dog food.
Not very often.
Why? Ease of finding it.
I already have it nearby. I have a dog.
Lots of people use different things as a protein source and this is what I use.
If I had a cat (not likely to happen) I'm sure I'd use cat food.

Just a thought... cat food has a lot more protein than dog food. I feed my mice on dog food and veggies rather than cat food because they can't handle so much protein. I would give cat food to Medusa if he would eat it, since he is carnivorous, but never to an omnivore, like the redfoots... or just very little if they really love it.
