Dear all fellow tortoise lovers and keepers,

I'm a newbie tortoise owner, I've had my two Stars for about two months now. I read a number of posts about pyramiding and I'm getting so so so paranoid about whether my torts are having that problem.

Please could anyone with expertise advise me on the matter! I have attached a photo of Jade (the smaller one)... his/her shell seems to grow differently than the other one.. I am also unable to tell the gender :(

thank you all in advance!!!

Your tortoises are not pyramiding. They looks great. Keep up the good work. Shell spraying, soaks and humidity, along with warm temps, will help continue the smooth growth.

Even if they were, it's certainly not the end of the world. There are many, many tortoises alive and well today...full grown tortoises with pyramided shells, healthy and beautiful in their own way.

Thank you all for your replies :) Definitely made me feel much better!!

The photos above are of one of my torts, the smaller one. I'm a little concerned about his / her growth rate as well, I got them both at the same time, I believe from the same batch (pet shop), the older one came at 35g and is now weighing at 50g, but this little fella here has only gained 5g in the last 2 months. He/She is quite picky about food, sticking to ONE type of vege and mulberry leaves. Doesn't like anything else. :(
