I have 3 Russian tortoises 1 male aged 8 and 2 females aged 10 and 11,If I wanted to put them together should i put the male in with the females or the females in with the male.
He's a grumpy cantankerous old sod so he wont be happy either way.

Ideally you should put them all together in unfamiliar territory in a large outdoor enclosure if you want them all to live together and get along long term.

For breeding purposes, I see most people recommending the females be put into the males territory.

Really it can work, or not work at all, no matter what you do. Just try it and make adjustments based on what happens. Good luck and I hope we start seeing lots of babies from your group!
