Hi!
I recently moved to Maryland and live on the Chesapeake Bay. As the weathers warming up, I want to build a nice outdoor enclosure for my 10 year old RedFoot. My concern is I'm surrounded by Osprey and Eagles. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to raptor proof a habitat outside? I had a Red Tailed Hawk take a swipe at my Russian Tort a few years ago and thanks to a well time shoe throw, that crisis was averted but I don't want to go through that again.

Thanks very much!

A very warm welcome to the forum, @danthetortman .

Please post pics of your tort.

Begin by reading the "Beginners Mistakes" Thread. There's also a thread called "Enclosures" which I'm sure would help you.

Do not hesitate to ask ANY question whenever in doubt/in need of help.

Welcome. I also keep Redfoot.
I have plastic netting covering the roof of my outdoors Redfoot pen. Any visual barrier will keep them from swooping. But I don't know about anything that large landing nearby and looking for a way inside.
We have many very large predatory birds and I've never had any issue.
Certainly if you framed up a wire mesh roof and sides, you'd be fine.
My enclosure is on Youtube: "Redfoot habitat Florida style".
It's my predator "resistant" pen. I have another that is open and a third that is super enclosed and is for very young ones.
