I am having trouble finding Cypress Mulch & Orchid Bark anywhere local. I have an RT and I currently have a 50/50 mix of plantation soil & organic top soil. These stay really moist, but I'd like to have an area in his enclosure that isn't so dirty and moist since everything sticks to him. I thought if I put bark on top that would help. Anything you recommend that is easy to find at Lowes/Home Depot?

Thank you!

I use coco coir substrate. It can be found in pet stores. Have you tried it?

No, I have not. Is it like the Plantation Soil where it comes compressed and you add water so it expands? I am looking for something on the dry side since my Plantation Soil/Potting Soil mix is so moist. Thanks!

You are correct! I find potting soil very moist! Coco coir can be purchased in bricks or in an 8 or 10lb. ready to go bag. It may be worth trying. I like it alot:)

I use 100% organic peat moss for my redfoot and box turtles.
