This is kinda gross so I apologize ahead of time, but this is what my Russian tortoises poop has looked like the last two days and it obviously doesn't look right. Why does it look this way? Is there something wrong with him?

unusual looking poop can be traced back to diet or a heavy parasite load. what is his diet like and what was his diet before you got him and have you had a fecal test done

okay right now it looks like his diet is the problem he probably needs more fiber in it less lettuce more leaves and flowers and weeds . A fecal test is hen a vet looks at a stool sample for parasites

a fecal test is always a good idea on a wild caught tortoise

I live in ohio too. I can find and do use to feed my russian: dandelion greens, broadleaf plantain, mullberry leaves are super good, wild or reg grape vine leaves, rose of sharon leaves and flowers, mallow, thistles, chicory, squash leaves and flowers, and clover. When I have to store buy in the winter I get: endive, escroll, raddichio, mustard greens, collard greens, kale, turnip greens, dandelion greens, and squash and pumkin as treats. I can only find all this at meijers. Walmart has very little selection. Whole foods would be a good one if you have one near.

I only give romaine twice a week with calcium powder on it. Its the only way mine will take the calcium
