Newbe Tort owner

Hi everyone, first time owner and poster. My new Hermmans Tort is living in a 50ish gallon 4 foot long enclosure. With this hot Illinois summer, I am now planning an outdoor enclosure as well...
I've been looking through all these posts and have learned more here than any where else...thanks for that...now if you all have a solution to keeping my twin 5 yr old boys from making so much damn noise.....I hope to be an active member cuz who knew I would love tortoises...

Just an update, took Dave outside for the first time today. He took his first poop, I'm way less worried now. Lol. Threw together a quick 2x4 pen that kept him contained while I was watching him..I was going through my scrap lumber collection, and found some 2x12 pressure treated lumber, and the creative juices got flowing. I have enough for about a 80sq foot enclosure, as small as Dave is, I believe this is big enough for the first few years. Any thoughts on pressure treated lumber? Will torts chew on wood walls? Don't want to poison my lil Dave

I've used pressure treated lumber for surrounds. Never had a tort , big or small chew on it.
