New Tortoise

This may be a silly question. But this is my first tortoise. I got a Russian Tortoise from Petsmart & I've had her for almost 3 wks. She's eating & seems happy, so I have no worries. But I was wondering how often I should take her to the vet for a check up. Or even if tortoises get check ups lol.

I take new ones to the vet as soon as I can. As far as check ups thats a great question, I would like to know that as well! Welcome to the forum!

None of my tortoises have gone to the vet, but since you got yours from pets mart and its most likely wild caught it never hurts to get a test for parasites and the all clear from the vet..

You both raise a good point. I should get her to the vet just to make sure she's in good health. Thanks for the advise
