Hi,
My tortoise seems to be quite irritated by his left eye. He tries to rub it and he squeezes his eye shut and when he does this a bit of stuff comes out of his eye and goes back in when he opens it again. It kind of looks like a stye but on his eyeball. Would anyone be able to tell me what this is and what I can do to help my tortoise?
Thanks for all you help,
Ruby

You could try a warm soak. Use a small spoon and gently pour water over the top of the shell or the top of its head to see if you could wash it out. How are you keeping your tortoise? Post photos and temperature of enclosure.

A couple of drops of saline solution as sold for contact wearers dripped onto the eye may help.
It could be the bulb (coiled bulbs have been known to damage eyes)
or substrate in the eye or an injury, but - as already said by far more experienced members - some pictures will help you get the best advice.
