My eastern box turtle is making weird sounds when he eats

It's like a creaking sound, hard to describe. I tried to get a video but he got shy and quit eating. He did it a couple days ago too.
Any ideas? He was eating purple lettuce if that matters

My boxie does it often, especially when eating or excited about the prospect of food.

mine does it when he eats also.

I brumated mine for the 1st time, less than 8 weeks but i think it did him a lot of good.
But after i took him back out, for several weeks he was stridulating a lot. Sometimes after i went to bed i would hear him just chirping away.
Now he's back to normal, though.

my guy does it too. opens his mouth and closes it making a squishing sound.
