I'm going to keep this updated as much as possible. So here's the beginning to Robins story. Robin is a 2 year old hermann who we came across for sale on Gumtree turns out the lady's son bought Robin ( previously named Teddy) but was then offered a job in Australia. Robin has settled in very nicely has had her soak and is away to bed :) I'll upload more pics tomorrow how many times a week would you recommend Robin gets a soak and calcium on the food?
Ignore the substrate in the photos it's what's s/he came with it's now coco coir

Broad leaf weeds are best plantain, dandelion, mulberry leaves, rose leaves, sow thistle etc...
I do a pinch of calcium twice a week. I soak every other day for my adult russian ( care is sim) congrats on new addition!

Day 2 with Robin, s/he has had a blast exploring the new enclosure aside from the fact it's more than double the size of the one s/he came in. Some new pics from bath time today was wondering if anyone would be able to help with sub species and I know it's to early for sex but is there any indications? Aw, Robin's so cute! I'd say still too small to determine sex.

Just had a wee soak and some measurements taken, Robin has weighed in at 55g and 7cm roughly in length put her/him next to a 10p just to try and compare the size ImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1408124730.014162.jpg

Robin is full of energy and loves the warm soaks. However hasn't eaten anything yet I know it can take a while to settle in does anyone have any ideas that could encourage the wee one to eat?

I got my spur-thighed tortoises yesterday and they ate perfectly fine maybe hand feed them if you haven't already that's what I have done with mine to start them off

I've tried hand feeding and putting food in the enclosure. The lash I got Robin from said that s/he loves cherry tomatoes but I heard they aren't any good so haven't gave any

S/he's a cutie for sure! So little. My one year old Hermann's takes up my entire palm plus some. My little one loves clover, dandelion, and Hibiscus leaves. He is also a big fan of raddichio. I hope Robin eats soon.

Had Robin out in the garden for a wee while and s/he ate. Sounds like either you've got a big tort or small hands haha Robin is 2 but has space on the palm of my hand

Glad to hear s/he ate. Always worrisome when they are off their food.

I just measured my (not so) little one. It looks like 4" long and 3" wide (shell). Mine obviously has no trouble eating!
