Hi, again

I was told by the seller that my russian is female but after looking at some pictures i'm not so sure.

Is she male or female? Sorry if its really obvious, i'm new to tortoise keeping.

It's too young to be able to tell at the moment. Give it a few years.

They all look female when small. Your tort has a couple of years growing to do before we can be certain :)

Did the seller tell you it was for sure a female, or did the seller tell you it was incubated for female, meaning it was incubated on the warmer side of the acceptable range and is more likely to be female?

@Tom he said she is a female

Unless he paid hundreds of dollars to have this tortoise surgically sexed, he can't know this.

It seems like this seller told you what you wanted to hear to make a sale. I'm sorry about that. Does it matter to you at this point? Did you want a female for some specific reason? Also, it might be a female. 50/50 chance. Its just too young to tell.

@Tom okay, thank you. At the time i wanted a female because i heard males were usually quite aggressive, but if Pebble is a male I wont mind she is lovely.
