Hi there,

I have a few box turtles and a red eared slider. They were all rescues from people who were not properly taking care of them. I know this is for tortoises, but I didnt think you guys would mind a fellow turtle lover. Someday I hope to have a tortoise.

Thank you for the warm welcomes. I checked out the turtle sections, thank you for the advice. I am always looking to know more about the animals that we have. I look forward to reading discussions!

What kind of a turtle did you get?
It's just a hatchling Red Eared Slider that a bird dropped, damaged in the parking lot at my job.
He will probably live out his years in one of my fish ponds.
Right now he's recovering in an aquarium with good food and a UVB

Thank you for helping the little one. It sounds like he is in good hands.

I have a baby red eared slider She (I call her a she, anyway) has an abscess on her ear that is being surgically removed. The people prior gave her to me that way. From what I understand it is very common, and poor husbandry also is a factor. Shes a fighter.
