And I was wondering do they have to hibernate in order to breed because I get mixed answers about that

A lot of people say that a male tortoise is more "potent" after hibernation but there's no credible evidence one way or the other. I know people who have Russians who hibernate and they mate I know lots of people who do not hibernate their Russians and they still mate.
