Hello and Welcome, congrats on the new tort! Several very good Russian keepers on the site so ask away with the questions and checkout the Russian section for great care info.

    Hi Ashley and welcome.
You will also need a bulb that gives your tort UVB which he needs to help digestion and to absorb the minerals etc that will keep him healthy and make his bones and shell strong.
Mercury Vapour Bulbs (MVB) are popular and easy to use - they give heat, light and uvb in one bulb .
Don't use coiled or long thin loop cfl types though as these have been known to damage torts eyes so they are too risky and many of us wouldn't gamble with our babies eyes.
