Hello everyone, long time lurker, fist time poster here. I am in the process of having a custom enclosure built for my sons leopard tortoise. I was looking for any tips you guys/gals may have to offer!

The specs so far are 30"x24"x60" (DxHxL), with a 6" dam wall at the bottom for substrate. The bottom, and sides of the 6" dam wall, will be lined with a counter top laminate to add extra water proofing. The top will have 3 ceramic sockets installed (left and right for ceramic bulbs for heat and the middle for a MVB). Will have one vent in the back that can be open, or closed. I will attach a photo of a similar one he made to give an idea of what it looks like. Any help, or ideas, would be great!329396606.png

What size leopard and how much time will it be spending in here? That's not a particularly large space if we're talking about something older than a yearling. If you can have one built that will last you longer, it would be worth it in my opinion.

I think its a year old, he got it from a friend. I can push it up to 90" long max (all the space i have for it inside) i do have a outside setup for it, when it warms up. So it will only be inside at night, and on cold days. I live in louisiana so cold is not common here.

Thought i would update this thread with pictures of the new enclosure. It ended up being 48" wide and 96" long. I have a CHE on the left and right with a MVB in the middle. Each CHE is on a thermostat, one set at 85 and the other at 80. Any input or changes you see that would help, would be great!

Also, humidity is holding around 75%, and temps on either side are holding at 83 on one side and 86 on the other. The vent in the back is closed, and foil placed over the back to seal it.

Was a cage I had built by a local guy I meet at a reptile show. He did a great job at a very good price. If anyone in the Louisiana area needs any enclosures made , I would be more than happy to refer you to him.
