Help....What species of tortoise/turtle is this?

I found this little guy heading under my car. I live in the east coast of central Florida. I have been attempting to fund out what species it belongs to but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, and welcome to the forum!

It looks like a hatchling Florida box turtle (Terrapene carolina bauri). I think they are a protected species in Florida.

No it was underneath my car and I had no idea what to do with it....we tend to have feral cats running around and I couldn't find a place to release it because I'm in a fairly urban area

Yep, even turtles found under cars are wild. Ask around to see what typw habitat it requires then find one for it.
