Hello I'm new to this forum and has helped me a ton already, this is my new baby Hermann tortoise which I got 3days ago. I have him in a large rubber maid container for temporary since Obie is still a baby, will be making a table once Obie is bigger!!ImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1453228503.491462.jpgImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1453228581.939774.jpgImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1453228600.090038.jpg

Hello and welcome! Beautiful animal but I must inform you that you do not have a Hermann's tortoise. I am 100% positive of this, there is no question and you in fact have a Greek tortoise.

You have a really beautuful tortoise :D. But your water bowl is very inappropriate. It is to tall and dangerous for him. Many tortoises had flipped over and drowned in bowls like that. Get a terracota plant saucer :).

You're welcome. This is what you're looking for :). It is nice and shallow so your baby can get inside whenever he feels like and he will be perfectly safe.

Okay I'll pick one of those up soon! Now just need to see what kind of Greek tortoise I have since I was informed that it is one!

Well I don't have experience with Greeks but I'm sure someone will help you. You can post a picture in the Greek section for identification :). What kind of lightning you have?

I have uvb and a basking light I spray the enclosure down 2times everyday for humidity, I don't have a night light since the temperature is 80f at night, I do have a extra lamp and a ceramic heating bulb.

Could you post a picture of your uvb light? I'm just checking you don't have the coil type as it burns their eyes. I had it and got rid of it. It is a shame pet shops still sell them. I attached a picture. Humidity will be much better if you moisten your substrate by pouring water in it, like you water plants and mixing it with your hands. That way the surface will dry and the substrate underneath will stay damp :). No night heat is needed if the temp stays above 17 C.
