These are coming up to 7 months old now, it's the first time they've been outside with real sun. Not sure they were impressed, all they want to do is hide, I suppose they still feel vunrable at this size.
It amazes me how fast they dry out even in our moderate heat, air temp being about 15°, much hotter out of the breeze. They literally dry out within 5 minutes. Hi! I'm new to the forum and was wondering at what age should you take a hatching out into the sun. Also how often do you suggest it?

Those that are lucky enough to have a warm climate let them out for an hour or so as a baby. Shade should always be provided, a baby will overheat very quickly if forced to stop in the sunlight. Also I would spray them down or soak after a sunning session.
I think some keepers in Florida just let them live outside 24/7, it's an Ideal climate.

I have to be careful the other way, there's only a short period of warm enough weather to allow babies out here in the UK.

Either way, if you provide a UVB bulb indoors it's not essential to be outside at a very young age.

@Anyfoot Thank you for your speedy response! Everyone here is so active In really glad I found this forum! I live in Texas so outdoors is pretty hot but I have a well shaded yard. I was thinking I would bring out my RF when I'm gardening or planting for an hour or so 2 or 3 times a week. Indoors my home is a regular 72f. I have been able to keep my enclosure between 70 and 95. Its about 80 in the hide and between 70 and 80 in the other cool places near the hide. The "Basking Side" is about 80 to 95. Its pretty open and I have been moving the thermometer around every few hours to test the temps. (My juvenile won't adrive until Tuesday) But I was just thinking the outside time would be good as well. Here is a pic Ill be getting the UVB. Lol kind of expensive but I have a $3 rebate Im gonna use while the Repti Sun is on sale next week!
